Nancy Elizabeth Reynolds

Written by her mom, Ginnie

Nancy was the youngest of our three daughters. She was a happy, outgoing child, always in the middle of whatever was going on.

Nancy was an excellent student. Math and science were her favorite subjects. For a tiny little gal, she could really make her trumpet howl. She enjoyed cheerleading and played point guard on the basketball team and ran the third leg of the one mile relay. Nancy was only 5'1" tall but she was speedy.

Nancy was very involved in 4-H. She had many cooking projects. She loved to bake break and make international dishes, but most of all she loved her animals. She raised and showed rabbits, sheep and rode our horses under both western and English saddle. Her pride and joy was her three year old Morgan colt, Beau that she had raised, broke and trained. Beau finally died at the age of 18.

Nancy was killed while returning to K-G High School from an orthodontist appointment. The wreck happened on Hwy. 2 along our property. We really don't know what happened that day. The highway patrol report said she had crossed the center line and hit a truck. However, an elderly couple who were driving to Havre told us that Nancy was about to cross the center line and that she was slumped against the window. They honked their horn but she did not respond.

I was working at the barn that morning and did not hear the crash but a great flock of geese rose from the wheat field behind the barn. I noted that my watch said five minutes to twelve. Her watch stopped at five minutes to twelve. Nancy was just 15 years old.
