Barry Sigler

Sent in by his brother, Mark Sigler and his mom, Virginia

Barry was the eldest of three children that included his brother, Mark and his sister, Lisa. He enjoyed playing baseball, fishing and hunting and just about any outdoor activity. He took pride in his Ford Mustang and Plymouth Roadrunner cars which he kept spotless. He was a talented artist; he enjoyed ceramic painting.

Barry was only 20 years old when he was killed along with his friends, PAT COLLINS and TIM ZANDER. Their crosses are located about six miles west of Livingston on the way to Bozeman on the old highway before they put in the interstate. They had gone out to Bozeman for the night and were returning home around 2 a.m. Alcohol was ruled out but there was a sloppy, wet snowstorm. They were coming around a curve and slid into the other lane and hit a semi. All three funerals were held the same day.

"Although he was taken by God as such an early age, people that truly knew him know that he had a very full life, even though it was cut short," writes his mom, Virginia. Barry's brother Mark remembers that it was a terrible time for his family as his mom had lost her husband the year before. Each year, on Memorial Day, Virginia and Mark decorate the crosses in remembrance of the three young men lost on that fateful Halloween night.
