Angel Marie Price Grant Sent in by her friend, Tracy Denler Angel was an elementary school friend of Tracy Denler, of Helena. Angel was killed on Hwy. 200, west of Jordan, in Garfield County, at approximately two o'clock in the morning. According to Tracy, Angel and her five year old daughter were headed from Glendive to Helena. They were on their way home for Christmas. Angel was killed by a driver and his two passengers that were drinking. The young men tried to get Angel to pull over. When she did not, the boys kept pulling their pickup alongside hers. The vehicles collided and Angel's car went into the ditch, killing her. The boys tried to cover up the accident by taking Angel's daughter to the hospital and leaving Angel on the highway. They told the hospital that they came upon the wreck. After an investigation, it was confirmed that they were the ones in the accident. A highway patrol officer stated that the pickup was traveling fast, crested a hill and struck Angel's car during an attempt to pass. The death pushed MT's highway fatality to 258 for that year. The driver and his two companions were convicted and sentenced as a result of charges stemming from this accident. |
